My Milly I'll Always Remember You!

What a day this has been. It started off well, but then after returning home from work, to my dismay, I discovered that Madeline had accidentally locked Milly in the storage shed. You can imagine what happened from there with the heat of the summer fast approaching. Jason and I got Milly before we even got married back in 1999. She would have been 9 years old in September. Milly was my baby. She used to be my jogging buddy when we lived in Petal. I felt especially close to her when I was helping her with her two litters of puppies. Madeline said, "Milly is my bestfriend." She knows that she is gone, but the reality that Milly will never be able to play with her again hasn't really sunk in yet. Madeline told Jason just yesterday that she had had a bad dream. She dreamt that Milly ran away. Well, I guess the dream came true, in a sense, but she is now in doggy Heaven. Milly, we love you and will miss your companionship!

Photos and Hammond

I love to take Madeline to the downtown Hammond area and look for "natural" places to snap photos. Honestly, they always come out better than any studio pictures. All you need: a halfway decent camera, a boring day, a willing child, and any old town. Some of my favorite areas to take pictures are near old walls, park benches, big doors, near iron fences, and gates, along stairs, and near columns. This is becoming one of my passions.
